JOURNALISM – I have been a professional freelance writer for more than 25 years for British national newspapers and magazines including The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The New European, The Daily Telegraph, GQ, Esquire, Marie Claire, SHE, Prima, Best, Bella, Psychologies and many others.
In terms of variety of publications written for and number of articles published I am one of the most prolific freelance writers in Britain, as well as having articles published in Spain, America, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates. I’ve specialised in health, travel and author interviews. I’ve also edited and proofread extensively as a freelance editor.
WRITING CONTENT – Additionally I’m a professional freelance content writer for websites, a copywriter, blog writer, social media writer and have written emails for companies to help their businesses thrive. My freelance writing services have helped companies ranging from gyms, travel and financial to health, leisure (camping) and website design & SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) businesses.
In writing – whether as a freelance journalist or website content writer – what’s important to me is quality, style, pace, humour and well edited dynamic sentences that are as brimming with impact and information as they can be. Also, essentially, I never miss a deadline.
MARKETING & PR – As well, I’ve written for marketing and PR campaigns and helped with media for medical professionals and health organisations (including the NHS), fashion designers, musicians & bands and property companies. I have many friends, colleagues and contacts in the media and among bestselling authors. I am available in a traditional and/or social media consultant role.
VOLUNTARY WORK, TV & RADIO – I have also helped people with addiction and relationship problems on a voluntary basis. I’ve appeared on national television and radio commenting on relationships, travel, parenting and education.
A TRAVELLING FAMILY MAN – Aside from writing, I am a dad to two wonderful little boys. Having travelled since I was a teenager (round the world on one-way tickets by the age of 24!), having children only encouraged that some more as my wife Debs and I thought our children should see the world to learn about such as geography and history in a real-life way.
So we sold our house, bought a motorhome and covered 40,000 miles over the next couple of years to see 13 countries in Europe and north Africa. We also visited more than 300 family & friends. On the way, our boys learned the priceless lesson that people from everywhere are overwhelmingly kind, friendly and utterly brilliant!
BOOK – Authors On Their Travels is an authors’ travel book I edited from my interviews with some of the world’s bestselling authors, including such as Peter James, Marcia Willett, RJ Ellory, Kate Ellis, Lee Child, Kate Mosse, Lee Weeks and more: amzn.to/2pAsO7i
